This was the first Pulse story that I ever created. A Pulse is like a Wildcat Weekly, but it only consists of one story. I covered the Neuqua Ultimate Frisbee Club and provided information on how someone could learn more about this sport. I chose this topic because not a lot of people know about what Ultimate is or the fact that there's a club at Neuqua. One issue I had while filming my interview for this story was the wind. The reason I shot the interview outside is because I wanted to shoot it at the field where they play the sport. A tip I would give to anyone shooting outside is to use a wind screen because it will reduce the wind noise in your video.

Here is my first official Wildcat Weekly that aired on YouTube. Ansley and I worked on it and for our first story I think it turned out very good. We chose to cover the dance team because we wanted to talk about how there are much more dancers this year than before. This is because there is a lot of interest in the program and team itself, which Hannah mentions with more detail in the story. The hardest part of this story was shooting in the main gym, because the lights are a warm color they often make the video look orange. To solve this issue we were able to color correct the footage and get it back to it's normal color.

This is a Pulse story about the Apparel Construction class that Neuqua offers as an elective. It is a fun class that allows students to be creative and make their own clothing using different materials. Not many people realize how much work goes into making a piece of clothing and this video gives viewers a little taste of what it like to make something from start to finish. Overall it turned out well because of the variety of b-roll shots I got. Over the semester I have learned how important it is to have more b-roll than you need because you never know when you'll end up using a shot that you didn't have on your shot list.

This was the Thanksgiving episode Wildcat Weekly and because of that Hank and I wanted to create a story that was entertaining and different. We decided on a trivia game that focused specifically on the turkey because not many people know about this unique bird. The hardest part of this story was editing it. This is because we used three camera angles and two separate Mics. Once we imported the footage into Final Cut we then had to line up the audio with the clips that we used and make sure there weren't any jump cuts. Even though it was a challenging story to do we were still able to pull it off. My favorite part was making the freeze frames that introduced the Seniors and the Juniors because I think it added a fun element to the story.

I wanted to do a Pulse on the Best Buddies club because it gives students a chance to make friendships that will have a lasting impact in their lives. A huge challenge I faced when shooting this Pulse was being rushed for time. This was because I was originally going to do a different story, but I quickly had to change the topic when I discovered that the camera I was using had an issue with the SD card slot. For being rushed on time I still think I did a pretty good job. One change I would have made would be the location of the interview because I shot it by a window and the reflection was somewhat distracting from the person that I interviewed.

This was my first story of second semester. A major struggle I faced while making this story was the lack of time I had. I originally filmed this interview the week before, but due to audio issues I had to film it again last minute and I didn't realize that the video was over exposed. I the amount of b-roll I got for this story was the most I've ever gotten so I was able to choose from a big variety. Another thing I would change for this story is the voice overs. They could have been stronger, but again due to the lack of time I couldn't go back to fix them. This story had taught me that I need to be proactive and for the next story I was able to accomplish that.

This was a Pulse story I did that covered a unique event the baseball team hosts. The event is meant to help less fortunate schools have baseball programs and it features a silent action along with guest speakers including former baseball player Dave Dravecky. A challenge I faced while creating this story was shooting b-roll because there was a limited amount of footage from this event. Thankfully I was also able film the flyer and the glass case filled with baseball artifacts to use as some more b-roll. One thing that I think I did well with this story was the interview. In order to get this done and finished on time I actually had to go into school on a day that we were off, but I'm glad I did because other than the framing it turned out really good.

This story was by far my favorite to shoot because we interviewed students and teachers to see if they could finish famous love song lyrics for our valentines day show, This was also my first Catwalking story for Wildcat Weekly and I think it turned out really good. The only issue my partner Cam and I faced while making this story was the interview with one of the teachers. When we were setting up the wireless microphone something wasn't properly connected and we ended up having to shoot the clip again. One key characteristic of this story that I think really added to it was putting the lyrics at the bottom of the screen. For many this may not seem like a big deal, but I think it helped the viewers see what the actual song lyrics were.

This was a project Cate, Clair, and I created. The assignment was centered around the Chicago Auto Show and the goal was to create a mini story centered around one specific topic. We centered ours around the technology in cars and were able to get lots of cinematic b-roll of all the new and soon to be developed cars. I really liked this story because our class went to the Auto Show for a day and got to not only explore all of the new cars, but we were also able to make lots of connections with the people working at this event. For someone who doesn't know a lot of cars this event taught me things and I am so happy I got to share this experience with my friends.

Hoops for Heart is a program that raises money for heart disease. This Pulse story is very important to me because there have been a lot of heart issues in my family and by creating this I was able to spread awareness and inform other of what this program is about. My story was mainly focused on the gum classes at Neuqua and how for one day all gym classes participate in cardio activities to get students more active and help gain awareness about the program and how it impacts the lives of others, One thing I think I could have done to make this story better is if I included an interview, but other than that I think this was a really good story.

This story was by far one of the best Wildcat Weekly stories I've done. The reason for this would have to be because of my voice overs. For this story they were very strong and lead the viewer to understand what the kids matter job fair is and when it takes place. Although I wasn't able to get b-roll for this event because it was an upcoming event I was able to use footage that Kidsmatter provided me and I think I was able to effectively use it to help tell my story. I also really like how my interview for this story turned out because I had lots of questions which lead me to have lots of footage to chose from so I could pick the strongest answers and use them in my story.

This was my favorite Pulse story because I got to document my trip to San Francisco with my Virtual Enterprise International company. The trip consisted of a trade show where we sold our virtual products and competitions where we presented our employee manual and other company information. I really like how this story turned out because I was able to show the viewers what VEI is all about and let them get a look at what happens when we go to trade shows. I was very happy with my interview for this story because I was able to go to a business classroom instead of the studio. In addition to the good interview I also had a variety of b-roll to chose from for this story which is what made this Pulse so unique from any other story I've done.

This was my final story for Wildcat Weekly. What I really liked about this story was the unique perspective we got. Instead of just doing a general story about the musical my partner Maddie and I decided to focus mainly on the costumes in the musical. Often times the costumes are something that is easily forgotten, but our story was able to highlight them and give credit to those who out so much hard work into making these costumes. A challenge I faced with this story was editing when we were working on our story there were some issues with the b-roll and in order to solve them we had to go back and put all new b-roll clips in which required lots of extra time, but it ended up making the story better and in my opinion it was worth it.

For the Senior show of Wildcat Weekly Hannah and I were chosen to be hosts and coordinating producers. Ever since I saw the first episode of this show I've always wanted to produce it and I'm so happy this show was the one I produced. With all the time and effort that was put into the show I am very proud of how it turned out. This was also the first time I've ever hosted Wildcat Weekly and I have to say it's much harder than it looks. Not only do you have to memorize what you are going to say, but you have to film when there isn't lots of sun because otherwise there will be shadows on the hosts faces. I have learned so much from being in this class and I have gotten better with every story I've created and it shows in the work I've done.
