This is the first ever project I did. The story included 4 actors and was focused on two school crime solvers, Ted and Sara, the clues they found lead them to believe that someone was kidnapping students from class. They stumbled upon some mysterious things happening in a classroom and figured out why students weren't in class. This was a very fun project to film and shoot. The outside scene was the hardest part to film because of how windy it was that day, but we were able to fix that issue during the editing process.

This was a video I created while learning to use Final Cut Pro. We were given a series of clips and got to arrange them in any order to create some sort of story. Our story was high speed car chase that ended in getting caught by the police. I added some sounds effects like an engine noise and police sirens to add more emotion to this edit and to tell more of a story. There is also the flashing lights at then end that I put on top of the video of the car. To do this I brought down the opacity of the shot.

Here is a trailer for the movie "Mean Girls" that we re-cut into a horror. Using many clips from the movie we created this movie trailer and changed the name. This involved a lot of work in terms of the editing process most of the clips had to be put over others to change what the actors were saying and how they appeared. In addition we also had to cut out a lot of noise in the background of clips. Overall we created a trailer that focused on the true hatred Cady and Regina had for each other. We also showed the truly evil side of Regina that no one had expected.

This is a stop motion I created based off the game Snake. If you are not familiar with the game, you start as a tiny snake and build up as you touch the dot. The longer your snake is the harder it is not to run into your own snake, which is what happened at the end. It was created with post its and was a new experience for me because it was my first time making a stop motion video. The goal of this project was to create something entertaining. The post it snake was how we accomplished that and was created to draw your attention.

This is the first assignment I did individually for my class and was shot and edited by myself. I wanted to create a fun commercial that was based around the holidays. The song in the video was used to get people in the mood for Christmas. The plot of the commercial is two kids on Christmas eve getting ready for Santa to come, but they realize they don't have any cookies for him. Then the next day they wake up to see that Santa has brought them presents.

This is a news package that I created about off campus lunch at our school. We interviewed some students and the Principal to get their thoughts on the topic. The audio and lighting in the video turned out well because we were able to use an external mic instead of the built in mic on the camera and we found spots in the school that let in lots of natural light. Something that was difficult was the lack of b-roll we had, we were very rushed for time because we had to re-shoot some shots and this made it hard to get a variety b-roll.

This was a newscast we made that resembled our school newscast Wildcat Weekly. It included different segments from the hockey team to the school musical. Something that didn't turn out well in our newscast was our intro because it wasn't very interesting and included numerous pan shots from different places around the school. The segment I worked on was the school musical. We had lots of b-roll and our interviews turned out really well. An issue we had was finding a time to shoot and interview that worked well for everyone in our group.

This is a voice over sound on tape that was based on a fictional car accident that occurred in front of the school. A challenge was that I wasn't able to film the b-roll because I was absent so my partner Reilly had to shoot it and finish the video. Most of the video is from the press conference because we weren't able to get lots of b-roll. The focus of the video turned out really nice and the sound was crisp because the room of the press conference was very quiet and the camera was elevated from the crowd, making it easier for the mic to pick up the officer talking about the event that occurred before school.

In the talk show we interviewed an engineer. A huge issue I faced as the director was dealing with the audio not working properly. This resulted in the final video being very quiet and having to turn the speakers all the way up just to be able to watch the video. I think the overall quality of the video was very good because we used a TriCaster (three camera setup). This allows for each camera operator to manually adjust the focus and framing of each shot. For me being the director was kind of stressful because it was very hard to tell when the guest was done talking and that messed up the cameras and who they were on.

This music video was the final project that we did in our class. It was by far the hardest project to shoot and edit because it required lots of shots and editing the timing of the video to match up with the shots in a way that conveyed a story and was interesting to watch. The story of my music video is a guy and a girl who break up because the girl thinks her boyfriend is cheating on her. The guy gets angry and visits all the spots he went with his girlfriend because it's all he knows. This goes along with the song because it's about letting go of a relationship that wasn't meant to be.
